• Job records created and managed within the Platform

From Customers (via Job Request Forms)

• Name, phone number, and/or email address
• Service address or location details
• Description of the requested service
• Preferred contact method and scheduling preferences
• IP address and browser user agent (for fraud prevention)

Automatically Collected

• Device type, browser, and operating system
• Pages visited and time spent on the Platform
• Referring URLs and click paths

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Operate and maintain the SmartGigz Platform
• Deliver job requests to the correct service provider
• Enable providers to manage their job pipeline
• Send transactional emails (account confirmations, job notifications)
• Detect and prevent fraudulent or abusive activity
• Improve Platform performance and features
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use customer data submitted through intake forms for advertising purposes.

3. How We Share Your Information

We share information only in these limited circumstances:

• With the Provider you contacted: When a customer submits a job request, that request (including contact details) is shared with the Provider they contacted.
• With service providers: We use third-party services to operate our platform (hosting, email delivery, authentication). These vendors only process data on our behalf.
• For legal compliance: We may disclose data if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of users or the public.
• Business transfers: If SmartGigz is acquired or merged, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction.

4. Data Retention

Provider account data is retained for as long as your account is active. Job records are retained for as long as needed to provide the service and comply with legal obligations. Customer data submitted via intake forms is retained until the associated job is closed or upon a valid deletion request.

You may request deletion of your data at any time by emailing privacy@smartgigz.app.

5. Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:

• Encrypted data storage and transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
• Row-level security on all data tables — providers can only see their own jobs
• Authenticated access controls for all provider-facing screens
• Rate limiting on public intake forms

No system is perfectly secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at security@smartgigz.app.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information in your account
• Delete your account and associated data
• Opt out of non-transactional marketing communications
• Data portability — request a copy of your data in a structured format

7. Cookies

SmartGigz uses essential cookies and session tokens to keep you logged in and maintain your session. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. We do not use third-party ad networks. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but the Platform may not function correctly without them.

8. Children's Privacy

SmartGigz is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the Platform. Continued use of SmartGigz after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.
